OST 1 contains music from the first thirteen episodes of Utena. Though some of the BG pieces reappear in other seasons, this is the first time they show up in the series. 1. Shoujo Kakumei - Overture
This is like the prologue to all of Utena. Bits and pieces of it are played throughout the series, and it's a very recognizable piece. Even if you've only seen one or two episodes of Utena, you are sure to recognize it. If you've seen the whole series, this piece is played in its entirety at the end of episode 39.

2. Rinbu Revolution
Translating as "Dance Wheel Revolution", this is the opening song for Utena. It is sung by the J-POP artist Okui Masami, and is an excellent piece. If you would like to listen to other versions of this song, go here.

3. Subtitle
One of the eyecatches. (Themes played when the show cuts to commercial.)

4. Hikari Sasu Niwa
Miki's piano piece, the one he played with his sister in their garden. This piece is played in pracatically every Utena episode.

5. Gakuen no Scarlet (Utena's Theme)
The "school" theme. This piece is played whenever we're getting impressive views of the school. Most prominantly in the first episode where the camera shows us various angles of Ohtori Gakuen, right after Wakaba runs to class after waiting for Utena.

6. Gakuen no Lyrics
A light hearted diddy, this piece is often played when ChuuChuu is horsing around. Mainly flute and violin.

7. Jab Up Beauty
This is the music played when Utena beats the basketball players in episode one, and when she's walking down the hallway right afterwards, putting her jacket back on. Jazzy, upbeat guitar and piano piece.

8. Bara no Tameiki (Anshi's Theme)
This is the music played right after that scene. This is the scene in which Utena first sees the Rose Garden, and see's Anshii watering the roses, and remembers the scent of her Prince. A very pretty piece, with wordless vocals.

9. Yuuga no Kanojo
A mainly violin piece that most would associate with Nanami. It's played when we first meet Nanami, and subsequently whenever she's doing odd little Nanamish things.

10. Sono Kanojo no Higeki
Hmm...the episode I most prominantly remember this piece being from is episode four, where Nanami is devising all her schemes to take down Anshii. This violin piece is played in all the bits where she's fantasizing Utena and Miki's disgust at Anshii's behaviors.

11. Butou no Eros
Full orchestral piece. Played in episode three, I believe. This is the music we hear when Utena and Anshii dance together at the end of the ball(with the help of Utena's amazing table cloth skills).

12. Kokoro no DICE
This is a soft guitar and piano piece that's...played somewhere in Utena. Sorry e.e; Can't remember them all. Very recognizable though. It's very gentle and quiet. A slow piece.

13. Mienai Bara
I seem to remember this being played during a memory scene...Ha ha e.e; Isn't that ironic. (*cough*). Um, prominantly piano, some violin and flute. This is a sad, slightly tragic piece, used in some flashback sequence as I recall.

14. Tsuioku no Rakuen
This is another piano and violin piece(some flute). It's usually played in sad/serious dialogue scenes. It's a very slow, meloncholey piece.

15. Shi no Aphrodite
Aptly named, this very sad piece is played in episode seven(among other instances), during Juri's flashback to her times with Shiori and the young man. This is played when she is narrating her letter to Shiori.

16. Hikari Sasu Niwa - Illusion
Another version of the Hikaru Sasu Niwa, this time played with only violins, instead of a piano.

17. Taiyo wo Iru Mono
Yet another piece usually used whenever the camera is panning over Ohtori Gakuen. Very proud, marching music.

18. Passionate
This is the music played when Utena is walking to the Dueling Arena. Now, don't get confused, this isn't 'Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku'(the music played when Utena is walking up the stairs). Rather, this is the music played in episode 12, when Utena has decided to reduel Touga, and is shown walking determinedly to the Forest.

19. Kioku no Idea
Very dramatic organ music that's usually played in two situations. 1) When the Seitokai are plotting. 2) When Nanami is being overly dramatic.

20. Densetsu - Kami no Na ha Abraxas
The true theme of the Seitokai. This overly dramatic organ music is played everytime we see them meet and plot things, like duels, up on their balcony. Classic Utena piece. XD

21. Eyecatch
As the title says, and eyecatch. But wait! That's not all, two eyecatches for the price of one.

22. Kashira Seijin (Kage Shoujo Theme)
The Kage Shoujo (Shadow Girls)are A-ko and B-ko, the two shadow girls who play out dramatizations each episode. This track is the music that's always played when they're acting.

23. Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku
Basically Utena's central song, Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku is played whenever Utena makes her laborous journey up the spiral staircase to the Dueling Arena. This is the music played during Utena's first and second season for this sequence. If you would like to listen to other versions of this song, go here.

24. Kettousha-tachi
This is the music played just before a duel, when the two opponents are facing each other on the Dueling Arena. This is the music played when they're talking, and when Anshii is placing the roses on their chests.

25. Dios he no Inori (Recommended)
Recommended by who, you say? Why, by me! This is one of my favorite pieces off of this soundtrack. This is the music played when Anshii summons the Dios no Ken and leans back to let the Duel Victor pull it from her chest. They only play 10-15 seconds of the actual track in the series, so I suggest you download this piece to hear the oh-so-amazing rest of it.

26. When Where Who Which
Right! On to the duel themes. This is Saionji's first duel theme, played in episode one. Not my favorite duel theme, but not too bad either. The end is really nice. ^^

27. Nikutai no Naka no Koseidai
This is Saionji's second duel theme, predictably played during episode two. I like this one better than his first one. I still giggle when they yell "Ammonite!" at the end. Duel songs are so random. I love them <3

28. Spira Mirabilis Gekijou
This is Miki's duel theme, played in episode five. Really awesome duel theme, if I do say so myself. Lots of electric guitar, and really fun to groove to.

29. Tenshi Souzou Sunawachi Hikari
One of my favorite duel themes, coming from one of my favorite duels. This is from Juri's amazing duel in episode seven. If you've seen Utena, you'll never forget this, or her second duel, later in the series.

30. Last Evolution
Another one of my favorite duel songs, this is Nanami's splendiforous theme, playing in episode ten, I believe. The way they use the song in the episode still blows me away. I love Nanami's serious episodes. I love Nanami, period.

31. Fuuin Juubaku
Touga's first duel song. Not one of my favorites, but it's better than his second duel theme. This one is played in episode eleven.

32. Nanbito mo Kataru Koto Nashi
One of my least favorite, if not the least of all, duel themes. This is Touga's duel theme from episode twelve, when Utena challenges him to another duel. I dunno...it's just not very catchy.

33. Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku (Industrial Mix)
A remix of ZUM, with a male singer added. This version is very similar to the original, but a little bit more techno-ish, though not as techno-ish as the third season version of this piece.

34. Jikai Yokoku
A little recap of the Overture, the first track on this CD. It sounds...exactly the same as the overture, only it's just ten or fifteen seconds long.

35. Truth
The ending theme for Utena. A very fun, groovey song, with lots and lots of Engrish in it. I really like this song, almost as much as I like the opening, which is rare for me in an anime series. If you would like to listen to other versions of this song, go here.

36. Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku (Karaoke)
Just ZUM without the words. You can sing along! :D If you would like to listen to other versions of this song, go here.
